Arizona Lawmakers Advance License Plate Reader Bill as Public Access and Retention Limits Remain Unclear

A bill that would codify the use of automatic license plate readers across Arizona law enforcement agencies advanced this week on a 7–2–1 vote, even as lawmakers left key questions unanswered about how long drivers’ location data may be stored and whether citizens will continue to have the right to see what the government has collected about them.
